New Hospice Nurse
Post Body

Hello! I’m about to start my new job as a hospice RN. I’ve been a nurse for a couple of years in another nursing specialty and decided to try hospice nursing. What are some helpful things/essentials you as hospice nurses use to organize yourself or that you would recommend buying?

Comments

My hospice company pretty much provides everything we need, so I’d wait and see what they set you up with and fill in from there. We document using iPads and I did buy a Bluetooth case with a keyboard that makes charting easier and quicker. If you’ve never been a community based nurse and have been in the hospital or a clinic, everything organizes their bag/backpack differently for their supplies - some use ziploc bags, some use pockets in their bag, some just organize it in their car and bring in what they’ll need/go back out to the car, I use makeup bags/pencil/school supply bags cause I’m extra and want everything to be cute and color coordinated and that makes me happy. 😆.
