Gothic castles and rural, antiquated villages; I want creepy atmosphere, rickety buildings at the base of a mountain, goat-herders with flat caps and tweed jackets deep in their drink, local legends and the obligatory superstitious Babushkas that go along with them — yeah, that’s what I’m looking for. Dracula and Frankenstein go without saying, and I’ve read The Historian and The Keep, both of which I really enjoyed, as well as The Bone Mother (which I did not). If it’s a period piece, so much the better, but it’s not necessary.
Gimme whatcha got! Thanks!
