Books like 'The Deep'
Post Body

Really any sort of body horror that reminds one of event horizon or the abyss would be great! I'm in the middle of The Deep and love it! Or anything with terrifying mysterious monsters.

EDIT: Okay. Wow. I just finished it. I read the first 3 quarters of the book in one night and the last quarter tonight so my thoughts are definitely half baked.....BUT, I have a shit ton of interpretations of what the hell I just read. Before I get into anything let me just say I think that Nick Cutter did himself ZERO favors by having direct dialogue with the otherworldly beings; I wouldve much preferred the main character sticking his head in a puddle of 4th dimensional goo chasing his son only to see unspeakable horrors and getting the fuck out of the station; Knowing he had stepped into some apocalyptic shit and avoiding it wouldve made it much more mysterious.

Okay, so.....it was a great read, solid 9/10 minus the flashbacks interrupting the tense scenes. Overall, I think Cutter was trying to get at the idea that all religions have a central theme of "do bad be punished by scary ancient gods". That's dope and all, but I was raised catholic so It hits home more for me than most because our God is an ASSHOLE. I could legitimately see the 'Gets as a disease inflicted by God because....why the fuck not.....cardi b and Drake being music legends..... reason enough and Ambrosia used as the fallen Angels way of inciting the apocalypse. Loved it till the end but why spoil the mystery by having the lovecraftian beings explain their existence. Oh.....for a character arc? So the normies can understand your real deep book? Cool! Wait no fuck you nick cutter.

Again I loved the book......minus the end
