I just finished "The Breeze Horror" by Candace Caponegro. While the concept for the book was campy and great (a space shuttle of toxic waste creating sentient zombies on the Jersey Shore) I felt like the execution wasn't the best.
I felt like the third act really fell apart when the zombies developed weird psychic lightning powers out of nowhere and then just brutalized all the remaining human beings. Their "revenge" kind of seemed like overkill
That and the prose seemed a little sub-par in places. I know this is a cult-classic and apparently was labeled as "splatterpunk"? I didn't get that out of it and came away disappointed. Has anyone else read this? Am I missing something?
