So far I have read the following for 2023(from best to worst):
Seed by Ania A. My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady H. The Collector by John Fowles
What all three have in common, didn’t scare me in the slightest. Very disappointing.
Next I’ll be reading Come Closer by Sara Gran.
I am new to Horror and have been looking for books that will keep me awake at night. Like deeply disturbing and creepy.
I need recommendations PLEASE.
Edit: Few of you asked what scares me . Honestly I really don’t know what CAN Scare me. I am in the psychology field so I’ve heard and seen it all , I’m desensitize to that. . Off the top of my head . The only thing that scared me at this adult age for a few days was the movie Jeepers Creepers . The house in the middle of nowhere and they drive by at the wrong time as he’s burning the bodies. The humans lining the walls of the caves. The concept of a traditional place of safety , not even being safe (home invasion). Those things scare me .
