Yes this is functionally the same as the user who made a post about Midnight Mass talking about recovery. It’s a great discussion and I didn’t want to hijack that important subject.
I was raised Catholic and always had very charismatic priests. I also have religious trauma based in the new age conservative Christian evangelical side of things (because my parents encouraged me to go to church with friends if I didn’t want to get confirmed)
Now I’m a sex positive, Queer, religious pluralist soooo I have been through a lot.
Midnight Mass was both an incredibly triggering but also healing/satisfying experience. It definitely affected me waaaay more than my friends raised Jewish or Agnostic.
Did anyone relate while watching????
