Today my girlfriend and I decided to have a Friday the 13th marathon to commemorate the date.
In parts 2 and 8, Jason makes two machete kills. In 2, he kills Mark, burying the machete into his skull before he rolls down the stone steps. In 8, he kills the captain of the boat by slitting his throat on the command deck.
Problem is, he uses the backside of the machete both times. A machete is only sharp on one edge, the front.
Can anyone explain, without appealing to Jason’s superhuman strength, how the fuck it makes sense that he would use the dull edge?
My girlfriend has been convinced by this site: https://lairofhorror.tripod.com/voorheeslair/bloopers2.html, that it was in fact sharp. To quote her: “Are you sure you know how machetes work?”
She’s pushed me to wits end. Am I missing something or did the director just commit a major a fuck-up?
Edit: Changed Scott to Mark
