I dig movies that don't rely on jump scares or gore to be deemed scary. Horror movies regarding hauntings are a plus.
The Orphanage, Let The Right One In, I Saw The Devil, A Tale of Two Sisters, and The Devil's Backbone are all favorites of mine.
Movies along the lines of The Audition I can dig to an extent, but the ending relied on being absolutely fucked up to add the horror element. The entire aspect of its plot was phenomenal until then.
Looking forward to seeing what you conjure up r/horror. Cheers!
The others was pretty good and had an interesting ending
