Can someone explain how the population has such a robust vocabulary?

Post Body

I have always wondered how they learned the meanings of the word and then are able to use them in a meaningful way. People don’t have access to data points like Aloy (who learns to swear and I love it). Are there texts still around from the Old Ones?

Edit) I’m not questioning the language everyone is using, I get why it’s English. It’s the specific words sone characters use, like loquacious. Impressive how deep this went went though into language development though
