Colors for a clay Watcher figure?

Wanted to share this clay Watcher rattle I made with a kiddo I work with in school. We wanted to go for a “British museum discovery” kinda vibe with how ancient people would depict facsimiles of animals and other culturally influenced art. But now we don’t know what to color/glaze it in. Want to avoid using exact colors and keep an earthen maybe Mesoamerican look to it.
