So Iām working on making a homebrew Horizon D&D campaign/basically homemade Horizon TTRPG and am trying to come up with some homebrewed stat blocks for new Machines to fight while waiting for the 3rd game and want to get some help from anyone who has any good ideas on how to make a machine prompt plausibly work in a real game. Iām setting up like this.
Machine Name: The designated tribal name of the Machine. Someone might have a good a good name that the rest of the Machineās design while a good name might come about as the rest of the parameters fill in.
Appearance: The general biological inspiration of the Machine and its weight class Light/Mid/Heavy.
Function: The Machineās designated class between Recon/Transport/Acquisition and Combat. Can combine two together if you canāt decide or if it might be a good descriptor of it function.
Unique Features/Gameplay Mechanics: The different tasks it performs for the environment and the different moves/abilities it uses in battle. Can include elemental properties including a new element Iām including called āSporificā for now. Uses seeds and spores for plant based attacks and noxious gasses. Only new element I can think being plausible but anyone else can propose one.
Components/Weak Spots: The obvious components/weapons adorning the Machine plus any potential elemental weaknesses it might have.
So with that all out of the way this is the first one Iād like to work on. ???s indicates what needs ideas.
Machine Name: ???
Appearance: A Heavyweight Machine based on the Quetzalcoatlus.
Function: Combat Class. Maybe a more combative version of a Sunwing but Iām really wanting it to be distinct from even that. Equal to or stronger than a Stormbird.
Unique Features/Gameplay Mechanics: I canāt think of any unique attacks or elements but I found a book/comic called The Primitive War where the authorās depiction of a Quetz had a nasty long barbed prehensile tongue for piercing and strangling so that certainly unique idea.
Components/Weak Spots: ???
Any and all ideas are welcome as Iāll be working on the actual numbers so no need to worry about any that.
