Is anyone else worried that their dysphoria stems from being abused as a child, especially FTMs (as mens clothing tends to be more modest).
I was abused from age 5 by a family member, for some context.
Ever since puberty and finding out what trans people are, I’ve always been pretty certain that I’m FTM. I don’t like the parts I was born with and would much rather have male genitalia and other sex characteristics. I believe this feeling to be dysphoria, as I do suffer greatly and my biological sex causes me distress and discomfort. I’ve also always preferred more masculine clothing, which also tends to be more modest. I hate tight or revealing clothing.
Recently I’ve started seeing an alarming number of tweets from de transitioners and cis people claiming that many FTMs: feel like they have dysphoria, wear masculine (modest) clothing, and mutilate their bodies as a result of sexual abuse. It’s made me question myself a lot and I’m curious if anyone else can relate.
