So I’ve recently found my stator to be going bad, (not keeping a charge, some backfiring, etc,) after checking the resistance it came up lacking, so I’ve ordered a new one and decided I’m going to replace it myself, however there are two things I’m curious about, I’ve noticed that most folks change the oil as well, in case of build up and contamination from the old stator, my oil looks fairly clean and looks as tho it was changed fairly shortly before I bought it, so how serious should I take the oil change? And are there any tools I should know to buy before hand that could make my life easier?
I get it. But electrosport themselves told me and 8 Honda's deep into the mission, I've had multiple instances bearing out this advice. For whatever reason, my caution in all things has served me well.
I grasp that it flows. But any modern component can reek havoc anywhere along a circuit. Its not that the part is faulty. Quite the contrary. It's too good lol. Caltric's only decent parts are brake pads in my opinion
Caltric is garbage. You'll need one every two years. And if reg/rec ain't bad, use caltric stator and wait a season... they'll go next. Buy Rick's, though I avoid the hotshock if bike is older. Harness will short
