On my way home from school, my rear cylinder stopped firing on my 1986 VT700C. I have been lead to believe that my ignition coil failed on my way home, because both of the rear spark plugs have stopped getting spark. After I saw this, I plugged the spark plugs into the ignition coil for the front cylinder, and they sparked like new. Is this a common thing to fail this particular bike, or was mine just old? If not, what could have caused this failure and is it signs that something else is wrong with the bike? Really need help with figuring this out. Thanks in advance :]
A bad coil will likely arc. Start bike with coils exposed and mist with water. The arc will show
