Had my fit for a few years…

Post Body

Was going to get a Honda Monkey, but recently lost a friend in a motorcycle accident that has changed my mind (and mostly my fiancés mind) and am gonna hold off. I have a 2007 Honda Fit sport GD3 Manual Transmission. I know nothing about cars but really want to learn (I was getting the monkey as my first small engine to maintain) my fit runs strong but has seen better days on the interior

I’m thinking of making this a long term project. I’ll need another car in a couple years so I’ll be able to park the fit. In the meantime I’m going to start from the inside restoring the floor replacing seats finding some OEM dash parts and then when it’s parked I’ve briefly looked into engine swaps etc (currently mine has 150k). From all of your experience is it a worth whole endeavor to invest in what I have or find another fit in a little bit better condition and start from there. I don’t make a ton of money but I’m patient and calculated with saving up for things. Any help or telling me about any of your experiences is greatly appreciated!

Edit: This is my daily driver. Ultimately I don’t want it to be a track car but something fun to drive that’s quick and handles well on corners etc.
