battery acts dead when turning key
Post Body

Hey all,

I have a 2006 honda civic LX. when I turn the key to on the lights come on, air goes on and everything looks and sounds normal. But when I turn the key to start the car the battery acts like it goes completely dead right away. No slow dimming of lights, it's like turning the key shuts the battery off. When I open the hood and jiggle the connections to the battery the lights come back on. I typically have to do this 4 or 5 times before the car will actually start.

I've researched into this and it sounds like it could be one of two things, either the starter is bad or the ground wire is bad. I'm leaning towards the wire since once the car actually starts there's no delayed turnover at all.

Has anyone dealt with this before or have an idea?
