Post Body

Hey all.

I have a 2002 Honda civic with an automatic transmission. A week ago the transmission seemed to not engage, when I came to a stop after driving it did not want to accelerate even though it was in drive. We did a transmission flush and all was well for a week, and then it started happening again. I took it to a transmission shop where they told me the car had too many miles (298k) and that it wasn’t worth repairing, but that my Shift Lever was in the wrong position. My husband works on older vehicles and is pretty unfamiliar with anything after 1990, especially with automatic transmissions. I was curious if anyone else has had this problem and if it is something that I can easily repair. I’m saving my $ to get a new car and really need this car to keep driving for a few more months.
