Greetings!

I grabbed the remastered version of the game in the past gog sales, and I've been slowly "returning to kharak" this past days. I played a lot back in the day the original versions, but never got to finish the campaign, so I guessed this was the best moment for this.

Anyway, I have some doubts about the campaign, as the need to somewhat optimize resources (as your fleet persists from one map to another) always kind of scared me (basically for the chance of getting my fleet so messed up that I can't continue the campaign), so I got some questions:

• Are still Ion Frigates the way to go on the Homeworld Campaign? I already got the tech from the bentusi (and some frigates ion captured) and I remember that they were hilariously overpowered back in the day. I'm still having problems managing my fleet, and simplifying roles would be great.
• Also, are still salvage corvettes the other way to go? I remember back in the day a friend going "the gipsy route", this is, capturing most of his fleet and building non-salvageable ships, and I've been able up to now to salvage several medium sized ships. I'm aiming for that destroyer in the third mission now...
• Do remaining resources autocollect after finishing the maps of the campaign?
• Any general suggestion for the campaign? As I said, I'm a bit afraid of running out of resources, or wasting too many ships (or even using wrong tactics), so any suggestion to safely "come back home" will be appreciated.

Also, how's the mod scene for remastered? I remember shitloads of mods back in the day for Homeworld (Both 1 and 2), mandatory Star Wars and Star Treck mods included, but I don't really know up to which point those mods are compatible or adapted to the new tech.
