Hello!
I just purchased a new Sony A95L, 65" tv for my living room and I'm looking to upgrade my set up away from my current soundbar which is a Bose Smart Soundbar 900. While that has been better than the TV speakers, I don't love it. Given the shape of my room, I believe that a 3.1 setup would fit the bill because I'd have to hang rear speakers off the wall near my front entrance and "that will look like hell"
We sit about 12' from the TV itself and the room is roughly 15x20 if that helps.
I believe I will need a receiver, L/R and a center speaker, I have an Paradigm cinema II (pretty sure) subwoofer a friend gave me so I'm hoping I can just add that to whatever else I pick up. Movies and ps5 gaming are all that's done on the TV. Have an apple TV 4k that we use to stream.
Budget, $1500 max
Thank you for all the suggestions
