Post Body

I have read through the FAQ's, watched 100's of hours of Youtube and spent tons of time reading through your posts.

I am moving into a new house in 4 weeks and want to upgrade my sound experience. Here is what I will be working with:
- Big open plan room (8m x 6m / 26ft x 20ft, tile floor, std 9ft ceiling
- Living / TV Room - we spend all our time there
- Mainly movies but listen to lots of music too (have 17yr daughter who loves house music as much as me)
- Budget is around $1500
- I live in South Africa - Add 30/40% to whatever you recommend from your 1st world country. If it's $100 by you it will be $150 for me
- I have a 65inch 4K TV that is fine for now
- Will be sitting around 4m / 12ft from TV

Here is what I am thinking based on research:
- Get a 3.1 system then add surrounds/Atmos later
- - 2 x Monitor Audio Monitor 100 Bookshelf's (link)
- - 1 x Monitor Audio Monitor C150 Centre (link)
- - 1 x Klipsch R-12SW Sub (link)
- - 1 x Pioneer VSX-LX302 7.2 AVR (Link)

The other option is to get a Jamo S807 5.0 system with a cheaper sub. Or on the other extreme side just get the best floor standers I can with my budget and run a 2.0 system that I can upgrade over the next year.

I guess I'm more curious into how you would spend $1200 to $1500 of you were in my position?

Thanks
