Dual nearfield subwoofers in a townhouse. Will this work?

Post Body

I have a small 12x11 room in a townhouse. Obviously townhouses and subwoofers don't mix well with neighbors but I see a lot of posts here with people having subs in townhouses without neighbors complaining and I'd really like to achieve good bass in a small 12x11 room.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but it's my understanding that with two subs you don't have to worry about placement as much, and you don't have to turn them up as much to feel them.

And if I go nearfield with two subs, then I surely don't have to turn them up as much to feel them, right?

Since my room is so small I was thinking of getting two sealed SVS SB-2000 Subwoofers and placing them either directly behind the couch ear level inches away from my head, or one on each side of the couch on the floor to the left and right of me.

I would really appreciate your input on this. Do you think neighbors could still hear it? Or do you think I can turn them up just enough for satisfying bass since their dual subs and so close to my head?
