I'm looking for a reasonably-priced processor ($1000). Do they exist?

I'd like to buy an integrated amp and separate processor.

I can get a very nice Denon or Yamaha receiver (RX-A1080) for around $1000, with 9.2 channels, room correction, Atmos/DTS:X, 4K video, and 100wpc.

But the second I try to find the same exact thing without amplification, the prices suddenly quadruple. I don't understand!

As far as I can tell, there does not exist a processor in the same price range (or less) than the equivalently featured receiver. Am I looking in the wrong places or does this market just not exist?
