Can get both of these at a similar price in Australia (denon $150 cheaper). Unfortunately we don't have the options like you guys have in the US with refurbs & sales etc. Anyway, not sure what to go with.
Biggest difference is obviously the yamaha can do 9.2 compared to the denon's 7.2. But my theater room is pretty small anyway so 5.1.2 is enough for now. Obviously the yamaha would be more future proof in that regard though in case I ever move to a bigger room in the future.
Not sure what's better room correction wise. From what I understand XT32 is the best from mass market AV receivers, but others have mentioned YPAO RSC on the higher end yamaha models is actually quite comparable these days. It has Multipoint, 3D, Precision EQ Calculation and Angle measurement.
Any other thoughts between features and sound quality etc between high end Denon & Yamaha receivers would be appreciated.
