Hi friends! Skip ahead to the solid line if you don't care about the background!
Currently I have a so called "home theater in a box" from Panasonic (SC-BT200) that has served me well. I've been looking to play files that have the DTS-MA track, but because there is only one HDMI input on the box, I can't get it to work. It's currently wired as:
Media Server ---HDMI---> TV <---HDMI/Optical---> Box
The TV is unable to pass-through DTS to the box so all I get is stereo when trying to play DTS tracks (including core) from the media server.
Anyways, I'm looking to fix this "issue" by getting an AVR (or equivalent). Will I be able to use the speakers that came with the box system with an actual receiver or will I need to invest in "real" speakers?
Second question: Can you guys point me in the direction of some relatively inexpensive receivers that will do what I want (decoding DTS-HD is a must).
