Sound not coming through boat speakers? Safe to hook up to receiver to test?
Post Body

So our used boat came with tower speakers (not exact model) to hook up to the stereo system on the boat, however when we bought it last year there was no sound coming out of them.

I want to do some troubleshooting with them to see if its simply a wire thats burnt out, or the speakers are blown, but don't want to risk further harm to other audio equipment. Would hooking them up to my receiver I have in my house put my receiver at risk in any way? Or is there a way to troubleshoot the speakers in a way besides simply hooking it up and trying to play music through them?
