Help picking components for a dual/clone projector display from a single source.
Post Body

I have been tasked with setting up a projector system at work. Since this is out of the realm of my know-how, I need help. I know this isn't the perfect sub for this, but it's as close as reddit search could get me. If this should be posted somewhere else, please let me know.

I need to setup a system that can project to two different projectors from one source. They will be showing the same picture at the same time, just on two different sides of the room. We will be ceiling mounting the projectors. I need help in picking components that can accomplish the following:

  • Connect a laptop for Powerpoint presentations (currently there are no HDMI connections on the laptops). This presentation will be displayed on both screens at once.
  • Once, maybe twice a year, we have video presentations. I will use the laptop to play them, so this system must support that.
  • It would be preferred if the laptop can be moved around the room, instead of stuck in one spot.
  • It would also be helpful if an outside laptop can be brought in and made to work as seamlessly as possible. Therefore, it would be nice if this system doesn’t require a large install of software to make this happen.
  • It must be as wireless as possible. We’re trying to tidy the room up, and more wires would not help that.
  • Audio will be handled through our existing mic/PA system. I will most likely jack in from the laptop for the very few times that audio is needed.

I will be purchasing all new components (minus laptop), including two new projectors. I don’t really need projector recommendations as I can probably figure out what will and won’t work, but suggestions are appreciated nonetheless. As with any project, it must be as budget friendly as possible. I have no problem spending money on quality components, but cost should be kept in mind. As of right now, I do not have a dollar figure that I am working with.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Edit: A drawing of the room in question.
