TCL QM8 or Denon AVR-S760H Which would you make your streaming device/gaming console hub?

Post Body

Hey everyone! I’m finally replacing my ancient (circa 2013) 65” Samsung LCD with an 85” TCL QM8 and my forever-meh Sony STR-DN840 receiver with a Denon AVR-S760H receiver. I’m really excited about the size jump (my kids convinced me to stay with 65” when I wanted a 75”. So this is just getting my upgrade journey up to date!) and amazing sound from the well-recommended Denon.

The thing I can’t figure out with EARC is which component makes a better streaming and gaming hub I can connect my PS5, X-box SX and Roku box to?? Thoughts?

Audio upgrade side note: I splurged for an SVS SB-1000 Pro subwoofer to update my 3.0 to 3.1….and yes, I will eventually add ATMOS speaker surrounds. When budget allowed. Overall, including delivery and mounting the TCL to the wall, with an Amazon bracket I had to get separately, the TV, Receiver and Sub cost me about $3k. How’d I do?

This is the breakdown, with the TV, AVR and Sub coming with a 5% Best Buy card rebate not computed yet as BB rounds down. πŸ–•πŸΌ.

$1699. (TCL QM8 85” TV)

$ 250. (Delivery, Setup & Mounting)

$ 107. (ECHOGEAR MaxMotion Wall Mount)

$ 399. (Denon S760H)

$ 599. (SVS SB-1000 Pro)

$3,054. Total (before sales tax)
