Hello,
So recently I purchased some speakers and a denon x2700 series receiver and some wharfedale Dx2 5.1 speakers with its powered sub. (first time using powered sub) and it's my first Proper AVR, before this I used 5.1 speaker packages.
I have set them up in a 3.1 while I wait for some stands for thr back speakers.
From the wall where the front speakers are to the back wall is about 3meters long. The first issue I had was that audessy during setup asks you to put the microphone behind the sitting position (I have my sofa on the wall, what is advised here? To skip those measurement tests or move the sofa a bit to do the tests?
The next thing is, after the final measurements were taken, it suggested that the distance of my L and R speakers were 2.37/2.43 meters (manually measures its about 2.1-2.2 meters in a sense but I'm not so worried about the extra 20cm or so) the center one was much more accurate.
The issue with measurements however is showing that my sub is 5.76 meters away but when I manually measure the distance it's about 2.3m (so Audissey is saying it's 2.5x further away from the listening position?) should I manually adjust this to the correct length?
So obviously this also effects the gains they are set as L (-3.5), C (-3), R (-2.5) and Sub ( 6) so if I were to manually adjust the distance, should I adjust this value as well? Like set it to 2.4 or 3 (not sure if it goes by decimals)?
The front cross over is 120hz and the center is set at 90hz which will bring me to the next question, my understanding is that the crossover is the level for which lower frequencies are sent to the sub?
Finally the question I got is about the powered sub, i have connected the LFE/R of thr sub to the sub1 output via an RCA cable this is the first time I am using a powered sub, so my question is what to do with the two adjustment dials on the back. Both crossover and volume are set around half way. How should these be set?
Also do the cuts on the dial have a meaning?
