I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the Denon x3800h yesterday, but when I think about it, 11 channels is a ton. I think I’d be better off down the road upgrading to better 9 channels than to add 2 more extra channels I likely won’t appreciate. Our space isn’t really built for 11 channels either. I don’t think the extra cost to maybe use these in the future is worth it for me at a $400 price tag.
I’ve read and googled this debate and it seems like a toss up.
Onkyo I’m reading allows crossover to be changed per channel and not all on the same crossover. I’ve never done this before and if I spend the extra $100, it seems people are reviewing this basically the same as the Pioneer, except for this feature/technology. Also, I read that Onkyo continuously updates to optimize Klipsch speakers, is that true? Besides these two things, is everything else with these two pretty much equal? I’m trying to learn and make the best choice for me. Thanks everyone who has helped/continues to help. For me this is considered a ‘bigger’ purchase so I’m really trying to get the ‘right’ one. I believe these two, from everything I’ve seen are hands down the best for what I need. Just trying to determine if the $100 price tag for me is ‘worth it.’ So if there are other things I’m not seeing between these two that would add to that $100 value, please share.
