I'm running a 5.2.4 setup for my living room home theatre and here is my gear:
L/R: Klipsch RP-600m
C: Klipsch RP-504C
Side Surrounds: Klipsch R-41m
On-ceiling atmos: Polk Audio OWM3 x 4
Sub: SVS PB1000 (non pro) x 2
Amp: Denon x3700h
My Klipsch R-41m side surrounds are at wall-mounted at ear-height, exactly 90 degrees and pointing straight at the listening position from 4ft away, about 2ft from the back wall. My fronts at all 12/13 feet away.
I'd like to upgrade my side surrounds and I'm wondering if I go for some Klipsch RP-402s dipole speakers would it improve the sound as opposed to going for some Klipsch RP-400m's?
As the speakers would be wall mounted and only 4ft from the listening position, would it be better to get better speakers that are monopole (so RP-400m) and pointing straight into the listeners ear? Or would it be better to go for bipoles (RP402s) that fire in front and behind the listener? Also bearing in mind that the back wall they are firing into on the backwards pointing speaker is only 2 ft away?
Anyone been thru a similar experience?
