I have just set up my first attempt at a home theatre (in my home living room) and I'm wondering about the front L/R speakers. My room is 12.5ft x 15ft and is three walls completely open on one side to a bigger kitchen area. My L/R speakers are 10ft apart and 13ft from listening position.
Gear:
Denon x3700H A/V receiver
Klipsch RP-504c center
Klipsch RP-600m L/R
Klipsch r-41m side surrounds
2 x SVS PB1000 subs (non pro)
4 x Polk Audio OWM3 on ceiling for Atmos
I was expecting to be blown away by this setup but I can't help but feel something is lacking. I'm pretty sure the Denon is capable enough and so too my 504c center, so I'm wondering if it could be my L/R RP-600m's. They are placed on stands and are 20cm away from the wall.
At a listening position 13ft away, is the room too big for the 600m's? Would I not notice much improvement if I upgrade to 6000f's as the woofer size is still the same? Is it too much of a lateral step?
I wanted to avoid the 8000f's simply because they look huge, but are they the only way to go here to notice any improvement in the front soundstage?
Anyone have a similar sized room with any experience here? Unfortunately acoustic treatment is a bit of a non starter as it is first and foremost our family living room. Cheers
