Hey folks, I've recently moved and am currently planning on setting up a nice home theater. Main use cases will be watching movies, some sports, and some occasional gaming.
For the display, I'm planning on the Samsung S95B, as I strongly prefer OLEDs.
However, I could use some help on the audio front.
I have a set of Klipsch RB-81s which I previously had bi-amped via an Onkyo receiver.
Given the advancements in HDMI/4k etc. I presume I'm going to need a new receiver. However, I'm having a hard time finding one that supports GSync/Freesync for gaming. It sounds like a lot of people are working around this by wiring directly from their PCs/consoles to their TVs, then using the TV to split the audio to their speakers.
However, if that's the case, do I really need a receiver at all, or just an amp?
Then, separately, I'm thinking I should add a sub to my setup - would be keen to hear recommendations on this front.
Thanks!
