So we have saved and saved, paid off our debts, and shopped around and we have a property in mind. Its a small farmhouse with 15 acres of land. We are going to see it this weekend and Im not sure what questions we should be asking. Ive not gone house shopping before and Im a little intimidates.
What we know: 1. the house was built 1994
there is roof damage but there is a pending insurance claim
most of the land is rented out to a neighbor for 1500 a year income to the neighbor.
they horded or at one point had a boat repair business should we be worried about any chemicals involved with that?
It is zoned as A2-R2
has two pole barns. Concrete floors and electrical wiring.
Private well and mound septic
propane heating with forced air.
Any advice is appreciated. This is to be our forever home so we wanna make sure its the right fit for us. We have plans for some chickens and goats so down the road we know we will stop renting out the land but I think its great to get some income and have someone else maintain the unused land.
update So the farmhouse was a bust. We would need to pretty much tear it down and rebuild in order to live there. sadly the hunt continues.
im having so much issues with formatting sorry
