Why are my floorboards sparkly?
Post Body

New homeowner - 1970’s Canadian home. These shots are between my basement and my main floor living room. Basement was finished in the 80’s. Went to investigate a potential leak and noticed that the floor under my subfloor has a gold sparkle to it? Seems to only be on the floorboard and not the drywall or side pieces of wood.

Is this likely asbestos and should I be freaking out? Pic of the insulation (which I don’t think is asbestos insulation?) is the 3rd picture.

Thanks!

Doesn't look like asbestos, and I think that's sap that naturally comes out of the wood. I've always seen it in attics and assumed it was the sap or a wood treatment that naturally releases over time in the heat.
