I've been a homeowner for 4 years now and my gosh! Trust me, I'm grateful that I'm a millennial who was able to buy a home for a decent price and nice interest rate but the home repairs suck! I'm not talking about changing a sink or a light fixture. I'm talking about them big ticket items such as roof repairs and porch leaks and broken fences. I'm talking about HVAC and furnace replacement. Thousands of dollars. It doesn't end. Lets not forget just regular maintenance things to keep up with your property. Theres always something. Life is still going while all this happening..... there's medical bills, car repairs, children expenses. And everything is sooo darn expensive!
The "America" dream is home ownership... but no one talks about what comes with that and how much work it is to keep up with the basics.
Just needed to vent! Now let me go and review these quotes from contractors.
A roof is a once in a lifetime repair (usually)HVAC maybe every 10 years at worst. These are very easily budgeted for.
