I'm tired of animals in my roof
Post Body

This is more of a rant than anything else, I just need to vent:

We bought this house four years ago. Since then we have been plagued with animals getting into our roof. For the first three years it was squirrels, but the other night I saw a raccoon squeeze his happy ass into a hole he made in our siding.

We've hired multiple exterminators and handymen. The problem never goes away. They put their little traps, they put their little doors to prevent re-entry, they say they've patched up all the holes.

And then I get woken up at 4am by my dog freaking out over something scratching at the space above our bedroom. Even more maddening because I grew up just down the street from this house and my parents never had to deal with anything remotely like this.

We have someone scheduled to come out this week and I truly want this to be the last exterminator I have to talk to. What questions, processes, whatever do I need to go through with this guy to make sure we're actually getting this problem resolved.

EDIT: Here is a photo of the soffit the raccoon has damaged. So y'all can see his little hidey hole I guess. This is right outside/above my bathroom window.

This sounds horrible.

Put a radio and a bright light in the attic. They hate that.
