Water pooling up in lawn about 10 feet from meter... Possible water main leak?
Post Body

PHOTOS (pay no attention to the top red arrow in the first photo as I thought the water had been coming from the downspout in the photo)

  1. Water is pooling in the lawn 10 feet from meter.
  2. Water bill has quadrupled from last month's bill.
  3. Water doesn't dry up with the hot sun. It's not going away.
  4. I've never noticed the water "bubbling" up. Every time I walk by the water, it's motionless.

Not sure if this is related but there are consistent high-pitched squeals in the walls of the house when I run water or flush. I'm fairly certain the water indoors is at a high pressure.

Where might the leak be coming from?

8/15/23 UPDATE 1: plumber is digging into lawn now and says if main line is made of blue poly, it's very likely to leak again.

8/15/23 UPDATE 2: the main line turned out to be black in color...? Well, I just don't understand how the line tore to begin with... Anyway, line is repaired. All is well, I suppose.
