I’m 25m and after a series of unfortunate events I have found myself in a position where I will be homeless on the streets in a week from now. I’m losing access to many things, including my only vehicle and some other resources as a result of a divorce incoming and it will leave me with the fewest resources I’ve ever had access to in my life.
Currently my best plan is to head to a nearby metropolitan area that has a small cluster of friends and friendly mutuals that can have my back in an emergency. None of them can house me in any permanent fashion other than providing a couch sometimes, but they have closets where I can keep my belongings and valuables safely and they will protect me in the upcoming winter season (I live in New England.)
when I’m not hanging with my friends or at my job that’s within walking distance of my home base (which I also desperately need to find) I am honestly at the most of a loss as to what I should do. This is my first time living homeless and without a car so I’m facing a lot of new challenges such as sleeping outside, keeping myself safe, avoiding breaking any laws and getting myself in trouble, and generally just trying to keep my morale and sanity up in these trying times. Any suggestions or advice on how to live like this for a few months? I can provide more details about my situation as well.
