ex bf is homeless addict for past year; is ready to get clean and wants to come stay with me. Is he going to be completely different after the trauma that goes along with living on the streets of California? I might drive 4 hours to pick him up today.

So as title says he's been homeless for the past year due to severe addiction. Like 5 years ago we were using together then got clean together and stayed like that for a few years until he relapsed which then he ended up on the streets. We didn't talk much over the past year because if he had a phone it would be stolen within a day or two I have seen him get clean before without going to treatment using suboxone, so I'm not as much worried about that but more about the trauma he's indurred on the streets of cali? Is it possible to just transition back into living in apartment after that? Is he going to be way different than who he was before homeless? Thanks for any advice or opinions
