From September to January. I got insanely lucky to have been starting a new job the week I was on the street, so I didn't have to be out there long.
I learned a couple of things:
1.) LIFE IS GOOD
2.) It can ALWAYS get worse
3.) There's WAY more house-less people out there than you might think. They're all hiding because they have to
4.) Shit only sucks right now because things are going to get better, and vice versa. Enjoy things while you can.
