I am in the planning stages of installing a wired network throughout my house (2 main floors, plus some use in the basement and attic for maintenance stuff). I was hoping to have many runs coming down from the upstairs closet with the rack but the electrician who will help me with the runs has confirmed that reaching the first floor or the basement from the attic/2F will be nearly impossible. Plan B is to have a second rack in the basement and connect them with one or 2 trunk lines. The only problem is that we might need to run the trunks outside to get them to the basement. I am fine with this I just need to confirm what best practice will be for the exterior runs? I expect to put them in some kind of sealed conduit together. I am in the Chicago area so yearly extreme temps go above 100F (38C) and below 0F (-18C). I already bought the bulk cable I should need for the other runs ( https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13674 ) but do I need to get something different for the external runs? Should I get a specific material for the conduit? Thanks for your advice.
