Building my first dedicated server that is a full size and not a mini pc. Have a 500gb m.2 running the os and for storage I want least 2TB on raid 1 because Iβll be storing some important documents that I would not want to loose and probably will back up them to an external as well. Also I will be accessing the storage from outside my network.
I wanted a smaller footprint and wanted to save money on thins that wonβt really matter so I went to with an old dell uatx case because space is also an issue I moded it to have good air flow. For the drives I have a 4 bay 2.5β hot swap enclosure and a 2TB ssd is pricy for the price of one I can get 2 2.5β hard drives. I can also go with 2 3.5β drives inside the case as well. But since itβs in a closet excessive heat and I live in an area where powe is pretty expensive so I try to save in every inch as much as possible. So will there be a significant difference ?
