Those who use fiber to connect switches together what do you use?

Hi everyone I'm looking at buying some SFPs to connect my switches together rather than using the copper ports. I'm debating if MM or SM would be better as I'll be buying the 1g optics from fs.com and probably 0.5m fiber cable as they are going to be in the same rack.
