I’m considering purchasing a tower server from Dell. The server I am thinking of is the T140 with an upgraded processor to the Xeon 3.4Ghz with Windows Server 2019 essentials. I’m planning on running a samba server on this, as I have Raspberry Pi’s hooked up to all TV’s in which I have family pictures, movies, etc…. I also want to use Oracle DB community for my projects (I am an entry level software engineer). I used to have an old donated server, but after multiple moves… I have no idea where it is. In addition to the server, I will be purchasing the NetGate 2100 Base as a firewall. The only problem is I have AT&T fiber, and I know I will have to bridge the gateway to netgate, and then use my router to broadcast. I also want to create a VLAN for guests, and IoT devices. Am I going in the right direction?
