I am considering the purchase of a rack, now I don't need anything large as I don't have or plan to have a lot of equipment. My plans are for an 8u size. I rent so would like something portable, would a wall mount still work or should I consider something more like an audio case?

Edit:

Should have described what I intend it for. I currently have a cable modem, Synology NAS and a router. I look to add a switch, and some pis. Mostly looking for a way to bundle it all together so I don't have to take it all apart every time I move.
