Hey labbers! I'm thinking of finally getting my hands on a managed switch that can create VLANs. It seems like a switch with that kind of routing could replace my router when properly configured. But then what would happen to my Wi-Fi? The sub seems split between adding an access point versus running a VM with a Wi-Fi card. Obviously that would be the cheaper solution, so I meant up doing that. Otherwise, I'd be looking for a cheap access point that either has a good UI or can be controlled from a VM. All it would really need is the ability to create multiple networks.
Or the whole controller/access point a little too corporate? Maybe I should be looking for an entry mesh Wi-Fi system.
