TrueNAS L2ARC and MetaData Vdevs
Post Body

Hi All

I know this is a common topic of discussion at the moment. But I have some questions about metadata and L2ARC Vdevs in TrueNAS scale (22.12.2)

I'm re-arranging my storage solutions and planning on using a small low-power i3 rig as my daily TrueNAS box. and also to run some containers.

the idea is to have 4x 4TB drives in a RaidZ1 as my primary pool. But I have an Intel P3700 (800GB) SSD from a previous build and I'm looking into using it as a L2ARC and metadata Cache. Originally I was going to use it 3 ways, for L2ARC, metadata, and Containers. But that doesn't seem to be possible in the GUI, and it seems as if I need to dedicate the whole SSD to one task. Is there a way to do this? And if I did, would I be better off just running my containers off the primary pool, with the metadata and L2ARC SSD.

Cheers!
