This is regarding the belt driven Blitz Bike 2.0, specifically.
I was looking at airbikes back in June and in the end it came down to only a few (the Blitz Bike, Airdyne AD7, and Rogue Echo) and I specifically wanted a quieter belt-driven bike. I ended up buying the Bells of Steel Blitz Bike, and I'm sometimes regretting it.
It turns out, while the fan is belt driven, the bike pedals are on a normal bike chain and gear, and it's been making loud clicking noises for me. Thing is, if I'd known about this I never would have bought it because I didn't want a bike that would need regular maintenance. There's nothing documented on the descriptions/details/specs for the bike to indicate it has a chain at all. I've seen the Rogue Echo torn down and it has a sort of offset pedal torque system with no chain I could tell, and I assumed these belt driven bikes would all be similar. None of the youtube reviews I saw on the bike mentioned the chain either. It's pretty hidden, even taking off the easily accessible side panel on the left you can hardly find it unless you know to look.
The chain has had this problem with loud clicking from the second week, and I've worked twice now with Bells of Steel support on it. They noted it's because the chain is too heavily greased, so I wiped the excess off and it got quite again for about 2-3 weeks, before starting the clicking with every press of the left pedal again.
Latest support case is recommending I take off the right panel to relubricate the chain, and I'm kind of mind blown that I've had to do all this with a bike that's only just over two months old, it's been very frustrating. Support has been reasonably responsive, but I'm pretty disappointed with the product overall because of this.
Just thought I'd post this here, as it's been a pretty rough experience with this bike and I thought others might benefit from being aware of it.
