Hi All. First let me thank you for reading this post. I live in a small town in Harford Co. Maryland that is unfortunately overrun by shitheads, drug addicts and felons. I've lived here for over a year and I have had to fend off two home intruders in this time. One was an opportunist, the other a nearby neighbor high as fuck on something not to pleasant, as I hit him with a baseball bat and he didnt notice the first swing. (Trust me, he felt the second, I have a wife and child and when the first blow didnt do anything I swung with intent to kill him). I cannot own a firearm as I am a army veteran who attempted to kill myself and sought out mental help, the results of which mean I cannot legally own a firearm for any reason (had I known this prior, I wouldnt have hospitalized myself). My kid wakes up at night scared when any sort of noise happens at night as the second intruder busted through my door at 2am. I am here seeking advice on several things. First, what kind of door, or material for said door, would you recommend that isnt beaten in so easily? Second, could you recommend an affordable security system that I could install a camera pointing towards my door with minimal invasive install (i.e. drilling) since my landlord is a peice of shit and doesnt look kindly on alterations. Third, does anyone know any way that I could get the suicide attempt expunged from my record, or any lawyer that can help, or anything really that would allow me to own a firearm for home protection, as I can handle several different types of firearms with confidence? I'm trained and experienced with ARs (I shot 40/40 on the range) and handguns. And I've shot skeet several times with my older brothers muzzle loaded single shell 12g.
