Why isn't there a smart thermostat that can control all of your zones individually using temperature sensors?

Post Body

Building a new house, has 10 AC zones, dad wanted me to buy 6 Google Nest Thermostats for like $1500 CAD total.

I wondered why there isn't a thermostat that has cheaper temperature sensors that wires up to the same wires so you can control them all using HA or via an app.

For my use-case is there a way to control the remaining zones without purchasing a thermostat?
